Dr. Suarez was raised in Miami, FL. She attended Florida International University, where she received a bachelor of science in Biological Sciences and a minor in secondary education. She then received her bachelor of science in Vision Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees from Nova Southeastern College of Optometry. While in the program, she organized and attended various optometric mission trips to Latin America and was part of the interprofessional diabetes education and awareness program to help promote diabetes prevention and management in Broward county.
Following graduation, Dr. Suarez pursued a residency in primary care with emphasis in ocular disease from the Miami Veterans Association Medical Center where she also gained experience in glaucoma management, oculoplastics, and cornea services.
Dr. Suarez is experienced in managing patients pre and post-operative cataract, refractive and retinal surgeries as well as patients with low vision needs.
